Once again I was having a good rook around in my workshop and found this huge piece of well seasoned silver birch timber. It had so much going for it with the spalted beech markings and silvery bark and even a small burr still in tact, for me, a large feature bowl was the only way to go. As well as being visually pleasing from all angles this stunning wooden bowl several different textures and no one will be resist touching it.
This would make a totally unique wedding present or even that special landmark birthday or anniversay present.
A authentic Irish gift.

Spalting is a by-product of the rotting process that is carried out by a vast array of stain, mold and decay fungi, that are found naturally on the forest floor. When the temperature and humidity are right, spalting can cause many different and beautiful patterns in rotting wood. Then the piece of wood is removed from the forest floor and crafted by Brendan. The rot stops and the beauty is brought to the surface
